Flexibility
Work part-time or full-time, from home or anywhere. This business is designed to fit your lifestyle, not the other way around. It's a great way to step into the travel industry as an independent travel agent without the high costs or complexity of building a business on your own. The independent contractor agreement below includes full details directly from the host agency.
How do I become a travel advisor?
Start by reviewing the independent contractor agreement, then click the Get Started button above to begin your journey with the host agency.
How much does it cost?
There is an initial setup fee of $30–$40 depending on the plan you choose, along with a $30–$40 monthly hosting fee.
The $30 plan offers an 80/20 commission split, meaning you keep 80% of what you earn.
The $40 plan offers a 90/10 split, so you keep 90% of your commissions. This plan also includes industry accreditation, which can unlock access to deeper travel agent rates for personal travel.
How much experience is required?
No prior experience is needed. Whether you're brand new or already familiar with travel planning, you can get started.
What is a host agency?
A host agency provides independent travel advisors with the tools, resources, support, and access to supplier relationships needed to run their business.
If I become a travel advisor, am I eligible for discounts?
Yes. One of the biggest perks is access to travel benefits, including the ability to earn commission on your own trips, along with potential agent rates and special offers.
What’s in it for you if I sign up?
To be transparent, I receive $10 or $15 per month for each agent who joins and lists Danielle Swiger as their referring advisor. Once you're signed up, you’ll have the opportunity to earn referral income as well.
Can I write this off on my taxes?
I’m not a tax professional, so I recommend speaking with one for your specific situation. However, many agents are able to treat their monthly host fee as a business expense.
Are there sales quotas?
No. You can grow your business at your own pace and choose how much or how little you want to work.
If you have any additional questions, feel free to call, text, or email me. You’ll find my contact information on the Contact Us page, and I’m always happy to help.
Do I need a license to become a travel agent?
In most US states no license is required to become a travel advisor. Your host agency provides all the credentials, tools, and supplier access you need to get started right away.
Can I become a travel advisor while working a full time job?
Absolutely. Most of our advisors start part-time while keeping their current job. The flexible schedule lets you build your travel business at your own pace with no pressure or quotas.
